EDUCATION HOUR AT ST. PAUL
At St. Paul we believe that continuous learning and faith formation are central parts of Christian life for people of all ages. These pages present a sampling of the activities by which we learn and grow.
We have classes available for children and youth from age 2 - 8th grade. We use a two-year curriculum that encourages children & youth to explore Bible stories in a hands-on, experiential way. Every fall, we explore stories from the Old Testament, and we shift to the New Testament in winter, beginning with the Advent season. Each week, kids and their leaders gather together to explore their Bibles, enjoy fun activities, pray, grow in faith, and have a blast while doing it!
Confirmation at St. Paul starts in grade 8 and follows a two-year program. The classes are typically held twice a month on Sunday evenings. It is taught by the Pastor, Vicar, Director of Children, Youth, & Family Ministry, and a lay member of the congregation. Students are confirmed in the Spring of 9th grade.
High school students gather together during our Education Hour to share in conversation and community with one another.
We encourage our high school youth to help in our preschool and elementary classrooms. We provide them with the same training as adult leaders, and equip them to grow in faith as they lead.
We are also working to create a more consistent youth group schedule for once a month fellowship and service opportunities. Please check back frequently for scheduling and planning.
The Adult Education and Faith Formation committee organizes a variety of adult-oriented growth & learning opportunities including a weekly Adult Forum. Forums are held during Sunday morning education hour and are led by the pastor, vicar or guest leaders and cover a wide range of topics.
