Barbara Stich

“I want my legacy to be that I left good children in the world.” Barbara Stitch is a quiet (but not bashful), friendly, stubborn (her kids would say she is more than a little), faithful, and proud mother of two children (Wendy & Gary) and five grandchildren. Barbara is a lover of being outdoors and traveling. Her fondest memory is going camping with her late husband (Cliff) and young children to Glacier National Park.  While she has called many places home, she most often thinks of Clarks Summit, PA, where she and her husband worked at (and retired from) Bell Telephone Company, actively attended Trinity Lutheran Church, and lived in the home they helped build. Barbara moved to the area just a few years ago. While she is thankful to be closer to family, it was also very hard to leave her friends, church, and in many ways her independence. In her new digs you might find her partaking in exercise classes; chatting with her new friends; in the middle of a good book,; eating cold cereal (her favorite!); or watching “Jeopardy” or “House Hunters.” While she is disappointed that she can’t be as active in the church like she used to be, she enjoys coming to St. Paul because of it's friendliness and sermons. Her faith has been a constant in her life, but she has noticed it strengthening through experiences over the years as it guided her through her husband’s death and sickness.  Next time you see Barbara, be sure to ask her about her upcoming trip back to Clarks Summit for her church’s anniversary celebration.
